When it comes to New England wedding venues, and honestly any wedding venues, the Beauport Hotel in Gloucester, Massachusetts is one of the most breathtaking places! This venue is a dream for anyone who loves the ocean, with its stunning waterfront views, elegant coastal decor, and an atmosphere that blends classic charm with a modern touch. I’ve photographed weddings at countless venues, but Beauport Hotel has a way of making the wedding feel like a timeless, coastal fairytale.
Beauport Hotel Wedding
Kate and Tony could not have chosen a better place to celebrate their love. From the moment I arrived, I knew this was going to be an unforgettable day. These two are my kind of couple—organized yet laid back, endlessly funny, and ready to party like absolute rock stars. Kate has one of the most beautiful smiles I’ve ever seen, and Tony is the kind of guy who isn’t afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve. Their love for each other is genuine, joyful, and filled with those little moments that make for the best wedding memories.
One of my favorite moments of the day was their first look. Tony completely lost it when he saw Kate for the first time, tears streaming down his face in pure happiness. It was one of those raw, emotional moments that makes me so grateful to do what I do. And in true Kate and Tony fashion, it turned into a moment of laughter, as Kate had to help clean his face so they could keep taking photos. These are the kinds of interactions that make a wedding day so special—not just the grand, picturesque moments, but the small, silly ones that reflect who a couple truly is.
Beyond their love for each other, Kate and Tony’s wedding was filled with deeply personal details that honored their families and their history. Tony’s wedding ring was no ordinary band—it belonged to his grandfather and has been in his family for over 60 years. The weight of that history, both literal and symbolic, was so special to see as he slipped it onto his finger. Kate also carried a piece of her family with her in the most beautiful way—her grandmother’s pearl necklaces were sewn into her godmother’s handkerchief, carefully placed within the lining of her wedding dress. It was a quiet but powerful tribute, a reminder of the love and legacy that surrounded them on their wedding day.
Coastal Massachusetts Wedding
After their first look and some initial portraits, we hopped onto a trolley and made our way to the Ocean House Hotel at Bass Rocks for some epic photos. The coastal scenery was absolutely stunning—waves crashing against the rocks, the sun glistening off the water, and Kate and Tony looking like they had just stepped out of a magazine. It was the perfect setting for capturing the two of them alone, soaking in a few quiet moments together before the whirlwind of the ceremony and reception. There’s something about beach photos that always feels so relaxed and organic, and these two made the most of every second. We also gathered the whole wedding party on the rocks for some group shots that were as lively and fun as the couple themselves.
One thing I always find so meaningful is how much pets mean to the couples I photograph. Some people include their pets in their wedding day, whether it’s having them walk down the aisle or just featuring them in their portraits. For Kate and Tony, their dog is no longer alive, and it means a lot to me that I got to photograph the three of them together before he passed.
A Seaside Celebration to Remember
The ceremony itself was an absolute joy to witness. Kate looked stunning in her dress. It was also the most perfect weather and the background of the ocean was incredible! I can’t say how much I love this venue!!
And then came the reception. From the moment the dance floor opened, it was non-stop energy. The drinks were flowing, the music was on point, and everyone was ready to celebrate the newlyweds in the best way possible. The food was also fantastic! I lost count of how many times I caught Kate and Tony absolutely doubled over in laughter, just completely in their element. I also loved the cutouts of their dog that Tony danced with.
Kate and Tony, your wedding was everything and more. The love, the laughter, the sentimental moments, and the all-out party—it was a day I’ll never forget. Thank you for letting me be a part of it, and for being the kind of couple that makes this job the absolute best. Cheers to a lifetime of adventure, laughter, and of course, epic dance parties!
I also cannot recommend the Beauport Hotel enough as a wedding venue! It was so beautiful and the people there are amazing. I can’t wait to go back!
