Some love stories take years to unfold, and sometimes, the perfect wedding photographer takes years to book. That was certainly the case with Jaymi and Bo’s stunning elopement in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Jaymi had been following my work for years—ever since I photographed her friend’s first and second weddings. She had wanted me to photograph something for her for so long, but life always seemed to get in the way. Between schedules, budgets, and just the unpredictability of life, it never quite happened—until now!
White Mountains Elopement
When Jaymi reached out to book me for her elopement, she was beyond excited, but she admitted that convincing Bo took a little effort. His hesitation didn’t last long, though. Maybe it was because he wanted her to have her dream photographer, or maybe it was because she told him I take an amazing cigar photo—either way, he was in! And from the moment I arrived on their wedding day, it was clear that Jaymi was so excited to finally have me there capturing this incredible moment in their lives. Bo even told me multiple times throughout the day that Jaymi had been talking about this every single day since booking me. Talk about feeling appreciated!
Jaymi and Bo’s elopement was intimate and heartfelt. They only wanted a couple of hours of photography, capturing a few different locations before heading to their ceremony at the Notchland Inn in Harts Location, NH. The inn, a beautifully historic venue tucked into the mountains, was the perfect place for such a meaningful day. The winter air was crisp, the scenery was breathtaking, and the love between these two was undeniable.
One of my favorite things about Jaymi is her laugh—it’s absolutely contagious. She’s the kind of person who radiates joy, and every time she laughed, Bo’s face would light up in response. Their love was so easy, so comfortable, and so real. And while Jaymi’s laughter filled the day with joy, Bo’s emotions were just as raw and beautiful. During the ceremony while Bo said his vows, he couldn’t hold back his tears. He later told me that from the very first date, he knew she was special. Seeing him overcome with emotion as they exchanged vows was such a powerful reminder of just how deep their love runs.
After their ceremony, we captured some more portraits around the Notchland Inn, soaking in the stunning mountain views and the quiet intimacy of the day. And then came Bo’s moment—the cigar photos. If I thought Jaymi had been excited about hiring me, I quickly learned that Bo had a newfound appreciation for my work. Once Bo saw the final photos, he contacted all his friends and told them how amazing the photos were and showed them all the cigar photos I took of him at the end of the day. Jaymi said “he didn’t even show them photos of the two of us. Just the cigar photos, because he was so impressed”!
At the end of the day, this elopement was everything Jaymi and Bo wanted it to be—intimate, personal, and filled with meaning. It was an absolute joy to be the one to photograph Jaymi’s special day! Seeing the way these two love each other, the way Bo looks at her like she’s his entire world, and the way Jaymi lights up in his presence—it was a privilege to capture it all. And if Bo ever wants another cigar photoshoot, well, he knows who to call!
